Fermion Masses and Bi-large Lepton Mixing from Singular Matrices
We discuss conditions under which bi-large mixing in the lepton sector is achieved assuming that all Yukawa matrices and the right-handed neutrino mass matrix have the same singular form in the leading order. Due to obvious quark lepton symmetry, this approach can be embedded into grand unified theories. The right-handed neutrino mass scale can be identified with the GUT scale and, as a consequ...
متن کاملLepton Flavor Violation and Fermion Masses
Lepton flavor violation may be a signature of “GUT scale” physics, if the messenger scale for SUSY breaking is above the “GUT scale.” We elaborate on the details of this simple statement in the following talk.
متن کاملFermion Masses and Mixing in Thick Branes
Fermion masses and mixing, both in the quark and leptonic sector, are discussed within the approach to the Yukawa puzzle proposed by Arkani-Hamed and Schmaltz. In the quark sector we have shown that at least two extra dimensions are necessary in order to obtain sufficient CP violation, while reproducing the correct quark mass spectrum and mixing angles. We have also studied the consequences of ...
متن کاملLepton family symmetries for neutrino masses and mixing
I review some of the recent progress (up to December 2005) in applying non-Abelian dicrete symmetries to the family structure of leptons, with particular emphasis on the tribimaximal mixing ansatz of Harrison, Perkins, and Scott.
متن کاملA 4 Symmetry and Lepton Masses and Mixing Yoshio
Stimulated by Ma’s idea which explains the tribimaximal neutrino mixing by assuming an A4 flavor symmetry, a lepton mass matrix model is investigated. A Frogatt-Nielsen type model is assumed, and the flavor structures of the masses and mixing are caused by the VEVs of SU(2)L-singlet scalars φ u i and φ i (i = 1, 2, 3), which are assigned to 3 and (1,1,1) of A4, respectively.
